Katlyn Davis, MA, LPCA is a trained Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in North Carolina. She enjoys helping people which coupled with her own life experiences led her into the field of counseling.  Specializing in working with Adults, Families, Children, Tweens, Teens, Young Adults, and Couples, she creates a safe non-judgmental way that fosters personal growth and maximizes efforts to achieve individual goals.

Katlyn earned a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Christian Counseling. During her studies, she learned specialized approaches to counseling including a holistic approach to counseling, promoting healing and improving one’s overall well-being by looking at the entire person and their life experiences when assessing and treating clients. 

She has worked in the mental health field with diverse clientele with cultural competence.  In addition, Katlyn has provided counseling in an outpatient treatment center for adults with substance use disorders and mental health concerns. Furthermore she has provided family and child therapy via intensive in-home settings. Moreover, Katlyn is experienced in providing treatment and interventions for individuals of all ages in therapeuticgroup home settings.

Clinical areas of interest and experience include working with Adults and Families utilizing a blend of approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, and Cognitive-Behavioral approach, examining the impact of our thoughts and actions on our emotions along with supportive talk therapy techniques. Katlyn also enjoys working with Premarital, Marital, and Couples therapy. A stance of neutrality can lead to trust, the basis of the therapeutic relationship.

Katlyn offers parenting/co-parenting consultations, as well as individual therapy for Young Adults, Teens, Tweens and Young Children. While Katlyn provides solution based therapy, and behavior modification she also utilizes creative and interactive interventions to encourage open communication, including creative expression, music, sand tray experiences, and physical movement. Katlyn has worked with children/adolescents with a range of developmental, behavioral and emotional problems at all stages of development as young as 6 yrs. old. Known to her clients as “Ms. Katlyn.” her approach incorporates an empathic, practical, and playful style while being relational with clients and their families. By tapping into creativity and offering a form of communication that is nonthreatening the young person has control reducing resistance in therapy.

Within the community, Katlyn plans to build long standing partnerships with various community agencies, schools, and providers to enhance patient care, offer case collaboration upon request, and to assist in linking families and individuals with appropriate services. 

Katlyn and her husband are the proud parents of a wonderful daughter.  Life experiences, including parenting, have enriched her therapeutic work providing her with greater empathy and understanding for the children and parents she serves.
